Seeking responsible, independent baccalaureate level research technician(CHHS major preferred) who has a willingness to learn and provide administrative support, research and clerical assistance to the ICCS director and participating faculty including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

Other Functions:

1. Perform advanced office skills including working on administrative and faculty research projects, preparing class materials and assisting faculty in the classroom.

2. Promote an atmosphere of excellent internal and external customer service within the department.

3. Prepare mailings and other correspondence; Photocopy and fax materials; Complete order request forms (on-line & manually); Process requisitions for basic office supplies, book orders, etc; Help with basic office duties and perform clerical record-keeping & filing functions, as well as help organize and staff events.

4.Perform other functions as needed by Institute director.


Knowledge and Skills Must have excellent computing skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Survey Monkey (or other web-based research applications), and some database management program. Strong (oral and written) communication skills and comfort with phone contact and meeting with the public are required. Strong research skills including use of web-based search and communication tools are also required. Experience with business equipment (photocopier, fax machine) is preferred. Must be familiar with the CSUMB community and be familiar with the Collaborative Health & Human Services Major Learning Outcomes and program requirements. Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, with a diverse group of good-humored faculty, staff and students! Abilities Understand/follow oral and written instructions, learn quickly, work independently, be able to multi-task; Communicate effectively with co-workers, students, faculty, staff, administrators and the general public; Take responsibility for and manage special projects as assigned; Prioritize work to efficiently complete projects within deadlines; Conduct web-based research;


Education and Experience: Candidate must have successfully completed an undergraduate (or graduate) degree program. Candidate must have completed a technology course (@ CSUMB or elsewhere) or be able to demonstrate required computing skills.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Demonstrated experience that clearly provides evidence of the knowledge and skills required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements identified above are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Must be willing and available to conduct work duties some evenings & weekends. Must have own transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance. Ability to complete web- based training in Defensive Driving and continue to meet the established driving standards as a condition of employment.

The hourly range for this position is $15.67-$25.00. This is a non-exempt position and as such is eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits, contributory retirement plan, TSA (403b), 13 paid holidays per year and other benefits. Corporation of CSUMB positions are "at-will" employment.
